Dear You,
Dear You,
Back in the summer of 2009, I began this blog in order to document what was going on in my kitchen. Since that time, I’ve learned so much. Isn’t it funny that once you get more involved in a thing, you find out how little you really know? I’m constantly learning from all the great people I’ve met along the way, and inspired as well.
What Julia Ate covers all kinds of food, but it focuses a great deal on preserving foods, and canning, in particular. Sweet things rule, over here, and I’m often baking up easy cakes and breads which in turn get covered in all the jams and jellies I make. I have a soft spot for jelly, no pun intended.
I used to be a stay-at-home-mom, but I guess for the past two years I have become a work-at-home-mom. I own a small jam company called Half-Pint Preserves. In the summer I'm hustling tons of local fruit into jars, but in the winter I'm reading up on my gardening books. And for the most part I'm still wrangling a four-year old boy.
My new thing is Instagram (@whatjuliaate). I've been having lots of fun there! I'm almost never on Twitter (@whatjuliaate) for some strange reason, I never really got it, but you'll find me sometimes on Facebook, (www.facebook.com/whatjuliaate). I used to be better at keeping up with these things, but I found that other things took up their space. You understand.
Feel free to write me at whatjuliaate@gmail.com. I will always write you back.
